President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended his scheduled visit to Bauchi state slated for today, December 29.
This is the second time the president is suspending the visit in less than three weeks, Daily Trust reports.
The President's was earlier billed to visit Bauchi on Tuesday, December 13 but the visit was put on hold as he had to be in Gambia with his colleagues in ECOWAS to mediate in the election standoff in the tiny West African nation.
The president suddenly cancelled his visit today after all preparations were in place to receive him.
There is no official statement from the presidency as to why the decision was taken as at the time of this report.
President Buhari is expected during the visit to commission the newly established Air Force Base and it's 60 bed ultra modern hospital.
He is also expected to commission some roads projects being executed by Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar in the state.
Meanwhile, Senator Ali Wakili has distanced himself from the circulation of a campaign poster with his picture and that of former governor, Malam Isa Yuguda in the state.
Wakili said the posters allegedly indicated that he was going to contest for Bauchi state governorship while Yuguda will contest for president in 2019.
The posters were pasted ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned visit to the state today, before the president cancelled the visit abruptly.
