Dokubo on retaliation in Southern Kaduna killings
Asari Dokubo says residents of Southern Kaduna should retaliate to balance the terror in the region.
Mujahid Asari Dokubo, an ex-militant and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, has urged Christians in southern Kaduna to defend themselves in the recent killings in that region of the northern state.
The Punch reports that Asari Dokubo made the call in a statement by his spokesperson Rex Anighoro in Abuja.
He also condemned the killing of Christians and said the retaliation was needed to balance the terror in the region allegedly supervised by agents of state governor Nasir El Rufai and President Muhammadu Buhari.
The statement titled “Buhari is a Futa Jallon Jihadist” read: “The Muhammadu Buhari and El Rufai-enabled ongoing genocide in Southern Kaduna is a supremacist and neo-colonialist conquest on the minorities of Northern Nigeria and by extension on all minorities in Nigeria.
“Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and the Niger Delta People Salvation Front and Niger Delta People Volunteer Force call all people of Southern Kaduna to defend themselves and balance the terror foisted on them by Buhari and El Rufai’s agents.
“We call on all minorities in the North and across the Nigerian union to mobilise support for the people of Southern Kaduna earmarked for extermination by the Gambari and Futa Jallon expansionists.
“Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and the Niger Delta People Salvation Front and Niger Delta People Volunteer Force stand with the people of Southern Kaduna.”
Meanwhile, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has sued the Nigerian government to court over the killings in Kaduna state.
The group is said to have petitioned renowned human rights activist Ms. Agnes Callamard.

BREAKING: Presidency denies sack of Magu as EFCC boss

The presidency has denied that Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been sacked.

Presidency denies sack of Magu as EFCC boss

Garba Shehu, the spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari in a series of tweets on Saturday, December 31, said,” no report has been made available to the Presidency by the Attorney General of the federation over the matter.”
Read the tweets below:
The Guardian newspaper had earlier reported that Magu had been removed as the EFCC chairman following the attorney-general of the federation (AGF) and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) submitting a report of his investigations into allegations against the EFCC boss to the president.
Magu had allegedly been redeployed back to Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to pave way for a new person to be presented by President Muhammadu Buhari as the nominee to head the anti-graft agency before the Senate.

BREAKING: EFCC denies Magu sack

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied reports that its acting chairman Ibrahim Magu has been sacked.
The EFCC says reports about Magu's sack are false

The anti-corruption agency tweeted on its official handle that the reports making the rounds were not true.
Recall that reports had emerged earlier that the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Malami had submitted reports on Magu’s case with the Department of State Service (DSS) to the presidency and that Magu had been removed.
But EFCC has now denied this.

Also, the presidency has denied Magu's removal. Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu corrected the impression that the acting EFCC boss had been removed from his position atop the anti-corruption agency.

Ezekwesili Attacks President Buhari Over Magu

Former education minister Oby Ezekwesili has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption is failing because he failed to deal well with the case of acting EFCC boss Ibrahim Magu.
Oby Ezekwesili says President Buhari has not done well on Magu's case.

In series of tweets on Saturday, December 31, Ezekwesili told presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu that President Buhari’s manner of handling the rejecting of Magu by the Nigerian Senate because of questionable security report by the Department of State Service.

Pray you end your Reactive communication in 2017. So if the media did not do this, Presidency would keep its USUAL SILENCE. 😠 https://twitter.com/garshehu/status/815130108268867584
@GarShehu The agenda that your principal- @MBuhari says is his #1 has taken a  because of shoddy handling of  😏

Ezekwesili also noted that removing Magu would be out of place even as she noted that the President has not explained what happened in the Senate screening.
The President has since denied the report of Magu's alleged sack just like the EFCC.
Ezekwesili also warned the presidency to always be on top of the situation rather than always reacting to every report.
