Revealed: The Real Cause of the Death of the US based Liberian couple.

US based Liberian couple allegedly killed by brother actually died as a result of carbon monoxide inhalation

Following reports that they had been poisoned by their brother after a visit to their hometown in Liberia, the real cause of the death of these couple has been revealed.
Earlier reports stated that the US-based couple identified as Lawrence and Shelly Gross, had been poisoned while spending the Christmas break in their home in Chocolate City, Monrovia, Liberia.

Contrary to that report, details have emerged over how the couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning which led to their suffocation, while they slept in their room.

According to reports given by members of the deceased's family, an autopsy carried out by a Nigerian Anatomical Pathologist identified as Dr. Christopher Chinedu Obiorah, revealed that the couple's brains were swollen, which is consistent with carbon monoxide inhalation.
Confirming the story, a police source said that there was a 1.5 KVA gasoline generator placed in the garage of the house, and the fumes circulated in the Gross' room.

“The poisonous gas was concentrated in the deceased room which faced directly across the hallway where the inner door to the garage is located. The house’s windows too are airtight so ventilation was very poor in the house. You see, the thing about carbon monoxide is that it is odorless, tasteless and colorless.

It is very difficult to detect and it’s very dangerous. The sad thing was that there was no exhaust pipe connected to the generator for the smoke to exit the building.”

Following claims that accusations have been flying back and forth between Lawrence and Shelly's family, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Col. Gregory Coleman, initiated a peace talk between them.

“Both families have been trading accusations but the IG has advised them to go back, hold a meeting among themselves and make peace with each other.”

When And How President Buhari Will Die, His Replacement- Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi Reveals

buhari opens mouth.PNG

Addressing reporters in Asaba, Delta State, Chukwudi said the release of Kanu will lead to the actualisation of Biafra.

The Ebonyi state-born prophet also said towards the end of 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari’s health will fail him and he “shall go the way of all men.”

On the economy, the prophet said God told him that “Nigeria will come out of its current recession before the end of 2019.”

The clergy man warned that the army would attempt to assume power, but that the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo would “prevail” and lead the country.

According to Chukwudi, “Tell pro-Biafrans to stop shedding tears. Their leader Nnamdi Kanu shall not remain in prison custody for too long again. He is already on his way out. As for their (pro-Biafrans) agitations for Biafra, the Lord says it is already in the horizon. Their day shall come soon”.

“The Lord is also speaking about Nigeria. Nigeria will come out of its current recession before the end of 2019. Oil price will stabilise and hardship shall disappear.

“But towards 2019, the president’s health shall fail him, and he shall go the way of all men. But VP Yemi Osinbajo shall wrestle with the soldiers. They shall try to seize power and Osinbajo shall prevail. He shall lead Nigeria into 2019.”

GOODNEWS: FG begins payment of N5,000 monthly to poorest citizens

The Federal Government has commenced the payment of N5,000 monthly to one million vulnerable Nigerians.
In a statement released, Monday, by Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, the government stated that the payment was effected through the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, of the government’s Social Investment Programmes, SIP.
According to the statement, one million Nigerians would receive N5,000 monthly payments under the CCT as a form of social safety net for the poorest and most vulnerable as budgeted for in the 2016 Budget.

Mr. Akande added that many of the beneficiaries have already reported receiving their first payments in the first batch that commenced last week.
“In the first batch that commenced last week, nine states would be covered, and many of the beneficiaries have already reported receiving their first payments by Friday last week, December 30, 2016.
“Funds for the commencement of the payments in four states were released last week to the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) – the platform that hosts and validates payments for all government’s social intervention programmes. Funds for another set of five states to complete the first batch of nine states would follow soon.”
The statement listed Borno, Kwara, Bauchi, Cross Rivers, Niger, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun and Ekiti states as states in the first batch to commence the CCT statement. It however said that the states were selected because they had a social register that identified the vulnerable and poorest Nigerians.
“Though the sequence for the payment of the money would be operationally managed by NIBSS, beneficiaries in Borno, Kwara and Bauchi States have started receiving the money. The other states in the first batch to commence the CCT payments are Cross Rivers, Niger, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun & Ekiti States,” Mr. Akande said.
“The nine pilot states were chosen because they have an existing Social Register that successfully identified the most vulnerable and poorest Nigerians through a tried and tested community based targeting (CBT) method working with the World Bank. However other states have already begun developing their Social Registers and would be included in subsequent phases of the CCT implementation.”
According to the statement, the federal government, with the support of the World Bank, has adopted the CBT for developing the social register in the other states around the country for transparency, objectivity and credibility in the selection of the poorest and vulnerable Nigerians. Hence, the federal government will soon commence community mobilisation for the creation of the register in more states, to expand the scope and reach of the CCT across the country.
Other states listed to have complied with the stipulated framework provided and are set for the community based targeting method for development of social register include Plateau, Jigawa, Adamawa, Anambra, Benue, Enugu, Katsina and Taraba States.
These states, Mr. Akande said, are to be followed by Delta, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Imo and Ogun States. The government also assured that once the information garnered are entered into the social register, cash transfers would be disbursed to beneficiaries.
“Once the community mobilisation, identification and selection processes are completed, the information garnered from the poorest households would be entered onto the Social Register in the states and the National Register at NIBSS, after which the cash transfers would be disbursed to the beneficiaries.”
The statement also disclosed that funds approved for the SIP are domiciled with the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
Meanwhile, the federal government said that with the commencement of the CCT, the Buhari administration is now implementing four of the federal government’s SIP.
Mr. Akande said the N-Power Volunteer Corps designed to hire half a million unemployed graduates has now engaged 200,000, and the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme now runs in three states.
He said the Buhari administration has also kicked-off the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, GEEP.
“Under GEEP, soft loans ranging from N10,000 to 100,000 have been designed for artisans, traders, market women among others. Already, thousands of cooperatives, market women associations, farmers and enterprising youths, have been identified and registered for the purpose, on an ongoing basis, and the disbursement of the soft loans through the Bank of Industry have started since Nov 25, 2016.
“At the last count, for the first phase, beneficiaries have been drawn from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abia, Adamawa, Bauchi, Delta, Imo, Kwara, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Ogun and Kogi States.”
The statement however said that regarding the GEEP, disbursements were halted and deferred until after the festive season but vetting and approval of beneficiaries are now being continued Commenting on the 200,000 beneficiaries of the N-power programme, Mr. Akande said about 100,000 graduates have been physically verified, adding that they have started receiving their N30,000 stipends.
“Regarding the 200,000 beneficiaries of the N-Power programme, close to 50 per cent of the graduates, have now been physically verified, and started receiving their monthly stipends of N30,000 last week. A second batch of 300,000 unemployed graduates are expected to be selected early this year to make up the half a million target set by the Buhari administration.
“The verified graduates are now being deployed to work as assistant teachers in schools, as community health aides and as agricultural extension workers, in more than 20 States of the Federation. These sates include; Abia, Adamawa, Bauchi, Anambra, Benue, Cross Rivers, Borno, Gombe, Edo, Jigawa, Katsina, Plateau, Kogi, Osun, Rivers, Zamfara, Niger, Sokoto, Ogun and Taraba.”
In the same vein, the government said it has also started the implementation of the National Home-grown School Feeding programme designed to feed 5.5 million school children for 200 school days in the first phase of the programme. According to the statement, the initial design was to feed pupils in 18 States but funding challenges had affected an earlier take-off. It however said that the programme has now commenced in Osun, Kaduna and Anambra States, adding that more states are expected to join this new year.
The federal government reiterated its commitment to touching the lives of millions of vulnerable Nigerians, especially in the new year, in fulfilment of its Change agenda.
“In the new year, it is the plan of the Federal Government to scale up the implementation of the SIP to touch the lives of millions of Nigerians in fulfilment of its promises and in furtherance of its Change agenda,” Mr. Akande said.

Police in Uganda Disrupt a marriage of a 15-year-Old girl

There was chaos at a village in Uganda after local police stormed a wedding ceremony and foiled the marriage of a 15-year-old girl to a 22-year-old man.
According to DailyMonitorUganda, the ceremony which had started off with excitement as the groom expected to take the bride home turned into a fiasco when police swung into action and arrested the parents and the groom.
The girl is said to have dropped out of school, senior two and she is currently four months pregnant.
The bride’s father, Abdu Kalim Ngobi (L) and the groom, Swaliki Talyaka at Iganga Police Station.
The parents Abdu Kalimu Ngobi and Faridah Kagoya are said to have agreed to marry off their daughter to Talyaka Swaliki after getting Shs 200, 000 (equals 17450 Nigerian Naira) and a goat as bride price.
Eye witnesses told Daily Monitor that by the time police stormed the place, the bride and groom had already performed the traditional wedding ceremony locally referred to as Okuwowa and the couple was about to leave.
“The bride and groom were marching to board their waiting car amidst ululations from friends and relatives by the time police arrived. The groom had even put a ring on the bride’s finger as a symbol to confirm that they had been wedded,” Mr Ayub Famba told this reporter.
He said when police arrived, the occasion turned chaotic as relatives and revellers started running away to avoid being arrested.
Speaking to their reporter at Iganga police station, the girl said she was 18 years and accused police for disrupting their function.
“I am not young and I don’t know why police disrupted our function. I love my husband and. I asked my parents’ permission to get married,” she said.
She asked police to release her parents and the groom such that he takes care of the pregnancy.
The girl’s parents said their daughter was 18 years and had accepted to marry her off at her own request.
The girl dropped out of school and told us that she wanted to get married to the man who was responsible for her pregnancy and as a Muslim, I had no objection,” said Mr Ngobi.
The groom said he had been in relationship with the girl for two years.
“Her parents asked for a bride price of Shs 200,000, a goat and two gomesi which I paid. They didn’t tell me that she was young,” said the groom.
More drama unfolded when a group of residents stormed Iganga Police Station demanding for the suspects to be released on claims that the girl was old.
Busoga East Police Region Spokesperson, Mr James Mubi said the parents are to be charged with marrying off an underage girl while the groom is to be charged with defilement.

KICC Reacts To Pastor Ashimolow’s Involvement In Ponzi Scheme

The Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), a London- based organization, of the main church pastored by Matthew Ashimolowo, has reacted to the allegation that he was involved Ponzi Scheme.

The rebuttal was made in a statement issued by Dipo Oluyomi, Chief Executive Officer and James Mcglashan, Chief Operating Officer.
It read:
“The attention of Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo and KICC has been drawn to publication in the media with the headline: “Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo loses $5million to Ponzi Scheme.”
“We wish to state that the headline was unfortunate and misleading and has caused damage to the reputation of Pastor Ashimolowo. The sensational headline suggests that Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo lost $5million when INFACT HE DID NOT and did not make the decision to invest.
“Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is the Senior Pastor of KICC and not her trustee and has never been a trustee of KICC.
“As you are aware from the Charities Commission’s report, the decision to invest was solely that of the U.K trustees without any involvement of Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo. Importantly as the report states, it is the trustees who have the responsibility for investing Charity Funds and NOT PASTOR MATTHEW ASHIMOLOWO.
“The investment referred to were made by former trustees on behalf of the Charity over SEVEN AND HALF YEARS AGO. They believed they were acting in the best interest of the Charity and they did not and have not benefited personally.
“Their actions were totally independent and were not influenced in any way by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo.
“Now that we have appraised the publisher(s) and author(s) of the report of these facts, we strongly encourage you to set the record straight by publishing this rejoinder immediately.
“KICC is a Charity whose main aim is to advance the Christian religion in the U.K. and around the world as well as provide local communities with a great deal of counseling and support, including educational, bereavement and prayer support.
“Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo preaches around the world on behalf of KICC, spreading the word, touching lives both home and abroad, raising Champions and the profile of KICC.”
Thank you.

Panic as MMM Set a New Date to unfrozen participants account

The anxiety amongst participants of the famous money-doubling scheme, Mavrodi Mundial Movement, (MMM) has continued as the scheme has set a new date for when it will unfreeze all confirmed Mavros of members.
Recall that the scheme had on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, froze all confirmed Mavros, otherwise known as money due for withdrawal for one month.
That action meant that all the accounts of members who are due to be paid after having ‘provided help’ (PH) to another person since the last month have been frozen and hence, have no access to request for payment, known as ‘Get Help’ (GH) until after one month.
Some participate had thought that the due date for their account to be unfrozen was on 13 of January 2017, but the scheme on its official Twitter handle, @MMMNigeriaHelp has disclosed that participants accounts will be unfrozen on January 14, 2017.
Meanwhile, some Nigerians have accused the federal government of investing in the popular Ponzi scheme, MMM, following reports of scarcity of small naira denominations in the country.
The accusations surfaced after sources in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) disclosed to the media that the apex bank failed to print small naira denominations for about a year due to the current economic recession.

Preparation For The Closure Of Abuja Airport Begins

Preparation For The Closure Of Abuja Airport Begins
The Minister of State, Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, will on Thursday engage the Industry’s Stakeholders on issues arising from the proposed closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for repairs on its runway.
Sirika disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr James Odaudu, Deputy Director, Press and Public Affairs, Ministry of Transportation on Monday in Abuja.
He said the meeting was a follow-up to the decision of the Federal Government to temporarily shut down operations at the airport for six weeks in February and March.
According to the minister, the Stakeholders’ Forum will afford him with the opportunity to officially inform the sector’s players of the decision.
“It is also to brief them on efforts being made to ensure that the use of the Kaduna International Airport as an alternative during the six-Week closure of the Abuja Airport is seamless and hitch-free.
“The Stakeholders will also be expected to make their contributions and key into the plans to make their operations during the period less problematic,” he said.
Sirika, however, emphasised that the Forum was in line with government’s belief in ventilating people’s opinions in formulating and executing policies.
He said that government was aware of the likely high level of discomfort and inconvenience the proposed closure of the airport would cause air transport passengers, airline operators and other service providers.
He explained that the decision was informed by safety and security concerns, saying that government would rather lose billions of dollars in revenue than to risk lives.
The minister also disclosed that the ministry would invite other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as security agencies and the Kaduna State Government who were expected to play roles during the six-week period.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the minister had in December revealed government plans to shut down the airport while briefing newsmen on its efforts toward addressing the challenges of aviation fuel.

Senator Accused of Stealing From a Widow

Senator Effiong accused of stealing from a widow
Senator Effiong is accused of stealing from a widow

- A police source confirmed that the petition against the senator is already being looked into and that he would soon be invited
- The senator representing Akwa Ibom South is also accused of criminal conspiracy and conducts likely to cause a breach of peace
The Nigerian police may soon commence investigation into an allegation of stealing against a serving senator, Nelson Effiong, following a petition.
A Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, petitioned the police alleging that Senator Effiong representing Akwa Ibom South district in the Senate committed a“criminal trespass, malicious damage to property, stealing, criminal conspiracy and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.”
Apart from this, the senator is alleged to have stolen blocks from a widow.
In the petition addressed to the commissioner of police in Akwa Ibom state, Effiong stated that Senator Nelson Effiong had taken several criminal actions against a widow and her family and boasted that he could do whatever he likes without consequences.
The petition from Barrister Effiong reads: “Our client owns a property (land) situated at Plot 21A, Unit E, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo. Senator Nelson Effiong is the owner of a property known as Destination Night Club (previously known as Millionaires Club) situated beside our Client's property at the above address.
"Senator Effiong with his privies, assigns, staff and customers have persistently trespassed on our client's property while purporting to exercise ‘his right of access’ (which he does not have and cannot legally, morally or factually lay claim to) to his own property. A visit to the property and assessment of the other buildings located along and within the area will reveal that the purported right of access alluded to by Senator Nelson Effiong has no architectural, legal, moral or logical basis.
"The said Destination Night Club usually holds an all-night party three times every week. During the duration of the party, customers/attendees who patronize the club, many with their cars, will invade our client's property and convert same to a parking lot. They do not only park their cars, they also make our client's property an extension of the club by carrying on with their amorous, immoral and anti-social activities there despite protestations by our client."
The lawyer alleged that on July 14, 2015, Senator Effiong sent ‘his boys’ to demolish and destroy the perimeter fence erected by his client.
“We are further informed by our client that prior to this, Senator Effiong directed one of his boys to warn our client not to erect the said perimeter fence, claiming that he has unfettered right to access his property (Destination Night Club) through our client ’s land. Our Client did not take this threat seriously until his boys made real their threats by demolishing the said perimeter fence.
“As if these were not enough infractions, on the 18th of November, 2016 Senator Nelson Effiong through his boys, in his illegal bid to halt the construction of new fence by our client on their land having previously demolished the old fence, entered our client's property and forcefully took away large quantities of blocks moulded and kept by our client. Till date, the stolen blocks have neither been found nor returned,” the petition said adding that efforts by his client to dissuade the legislator from further oppression were rebuffed.
"In one of the meetings between our client and Senator Effiong which took place sometimes in the month of September 2015 at Nelson Effiong's property, Destination Night Club, Senator Effiong pointedly told the representative of the widow's family that what really angered and made him to order his boys to demolish our clients fence was that our client did not inform him before going ahead to erect the fence - on our client's land,” the petitioner added.
Though the senator could not be reached, a police source from the state confirmed that the police already has knowledge of the petition and that the commissioner was working on it.
“The senator will be invited soon since the commissioner of police is already considering the petition,” the police source, who is not in position to officially speak, said.

Tiwa Savage and her hubby TeeBillz were spotted at Stephanie Coker’s wedding this weekend
The Punch reports that the couple were spotted at the wedding of Stephanie Coker, a popular media personality, during the weekend, with the duo the centre of attention.
Though their first public appearance together since their well-publicised break up, the duo, it was learnt, only had eyes for each other at the wedding ceremony.
In April 2016, the internet was overwhelmed with rumours of their break up, after TeeBillz took to social media to lash out at his wife; alleging infidelity, claiming that she had ‘sexual relationship’ with Dr. SID, Don Jazzy and 2face Idibia.
In a swift reaction, Tiwa, while denying the allegation, accused her hubby of being a habitual user of drugs, money swindler and engaging in extra marital affairs.
It was however learnt that the intervention of family members from both sides “have brought about reconciliation.”
“Tiwa and Tunji (Teebillz) are back for good, but they haven’t finalized the reconciliation process because it takes time,” an insider told TheNetNG.
“Don Jazzy is cool with him and there’re no issues between the couple anymore,” another industry expert said.

Naira To Fall Further As Dollar Inflow Drops

The naira is set to witness another round of decline against the dollar in the days ahead as an increase in dollar flows from Nigerians living abroad coming home for holidays fell short of expectations, traders said.

Foreign exchange reserves last Friday also fell 11.7 per cent to $25.72 billion by December 28, from $29.13 billion a year earlier, data mined from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) shows.

The local currency was quoted at 490 to the dollar on Thursday from 495 against the dollar last week on the parallel market.
In the official interbank window, the naira was quoted at 310.25 to the dollar on Thursday, but it was expected to close at around 305.5, the same level it has traded at since August.

“We see the naira depreciating against the dollar by the time more businesses resume operations next week after the festive season as dollar liquidity remains thin in the market,” one currency dealer said.

Nigerian Men Join #Carryyourwifeonyourhead (photos)

So far so good, the new year seems to be going on well as everywhere seems calm. People have different hopes and aspirations that they want to see accomplished and are working quietly towards it.
Couples have resolutions that involve making their relationships more interesting. They also plan on doing things that will make their union last while investing in their personal development.
With this, it is not really a surprise seeing Nigerian men taking the #CarryYourWifeOnYourHead challenge and playing according to the rules of the game. With this challenge, men are dared to share pictures of their wives on social media using the hashtag.
Men who are players know the implication of doing this as they stand the risk of letting their side chics see their wives. For those who have been deceiving ladies by claiming to be bachelors, it is an impossible task as the cat will be let out of the bag.
The ladies who got shown here should be proud of their husbands who appreciate their presence in their lives. It is no longer news that some people do not like being seen with their partners in public because they are embarrassed by their looks.
The brave ones who have nothing to hide have taken on the challenge by showing off the beautiful women in their lives. Check out their reactions below with the posted images of the women behind their happiness:
